Just a few details as we end our year together:
- We will be celebrating our year-end tomorrow. It is wonderful that many parents are able to be a part of the fun activities we have planned. We are looking forward to seeing you all first thing in the morning to help set up and run the games. The forecast is for beautiful weather - which we are excited about. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately (sunscreen, bug spray, hat, shorts, running shoes). Students also need to be reminded to bring a book to share and a cultural dish. Don't forget a water bottle!
- In the afternoon, students will be cleaning out their desks. It would be helpful if students had a couple of extra (and sturdy) bags to put all of their supplies in.
- Thursday afternoon, we will be watching the Shiloh video as a culmination activity to our novel study. If you are not comfortable with your child viewing this movie, please let me know and I will find an alternate activity for them to do.
- Friday is our last day together and evening is our Awards Night. It is a special time to share together and to recognize the hard work of all our students. Please make it a priority to attend. Students are asked to be in the classroom by 6:45 pm. Students will be sitting with their class for the evening. Please ensure that any younger siblings are seated with you throughout the Awards Night. There will be space at the front of the stage to take advantage of the photo op when your child is receiving their character award. Thanks for your help with making this evening run smoothly.
I again want to take the opportunity to thank each of you. It has been a pleasure teaching your children this past year. Thank you for your support as you entrusted your children to me each day. I have appreciated the encouragement I have felt from all of you over this past year. Thank you so very much. I hope that you have a wonderful summer!
Blessings,
Mrs. Lockhart
